Removing Barriers and Helping to HearFebruary 20th, 2018
Aiming to provide children and young people who are deaf or hard of hearing, and their families, with the opportunities and skills to face life’s challenges, Deaf Children Australia (DCA) encourages them to celebrate their potential.
DCA provides a range of services to families with deaf and hard of hearing children, and were a proud recipient of a $4000 grant as part of the 2017 Community Grants Program.
Since receiving the grant, DCA has used the $4,000 grant to assist with funding towards the ‘Time Out Family Camp’ for families with deaf children, which has been unable to run since 2014 due to insufficient funding;
“DCA is extremely grateful for the generous support of $4,000 we received in 2017 from Kedron-Wavell. With their support, we ran a highly successful Family Day Camp – the first of its kind in Queensland! DCA will be holding more of these camps in the future – we have one planned for March 2018! We thank Kedron-Wavell for their fantastic support and look forward to a continuing relationship into the future.”
