Police-Citizens Youth Clubs // Community Cup

March 14th, 2018

Police-Citizens Youth Clubs (PCYC) Queensland is a trusted and respected charitable not-for-profit that delivers a broad range of youth-focused activities and programs, outside school hours care, gym and fitness, and more for everyone. Together, they’re building safer, healthier communities through youth development.

Since 1948, our staff and volunteers have been working in partnership with the Queensland Police Service (QPS) to meet local community and youth needs. Today, PCYC supports more than 75,000 members across our 54 branches from the tip of Cape York to the Gold Coast hinterland.

Importantly, PCYCs are a vital and key point of engagement for young people who are at risk, disadvantaged or disengaged. The clubs and programs provide opportunities for young people to have positive experiences, get involved in a wide range of activities, and learn from great mentors and community leaders including serving Police officers.

Almost 90% of their work is funded through the kind donations from the public, as well as their fee-for-services for the community. The remaining is from government funding and significant in-kind support from their founding partners. Any surplus revenue goes straight back into their programs and facilities, as well as the communities they serve — ensuring that they deliver on their vision, now and in the future.

It all starts here at PCYC… Where it ends, is up to you!

Community Cup Program

As part of the 2017 Community Grants Program, the Zillmere PCYC branch were a proud recipient of $1000 towards the annual Community Cup Program. Funds received have helped in purchasing of new sporting equipment, fund professional umpire fees, the making of new jerseys and bibs that are available to all children and providing a water bottle and hat to all participants to keep.
