Kedron-Wavell Services Club this week proved too good at the Keno & Clubs Queensland
Awards for Excellence, taking home the trophies for Best Licensed RSL and/or Services Club
(large) and the Queensland Government Special Achievement Award for Responsible

Over 1100 guests from across the State attended the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre
event to see Kedron-Wavell Services Club take home these awards.

Kedron-Wavell Services Club prides itself on giving back to the people and community that support
them, returning over $12 million dollars in the last 10 years to local charities. The club remains
proactive in its approach to provide facilities and services that reflect the changing demographics
and membership requirements of the local community through ongoing improvements and
renovations to the club.

The RSL plays an active role in the community, becoming one of the most progressive in
Queensland. Boasting the largest sub branch membership in Queensland, members contributed
over 27,400 volunteer hours in the past year, travelling over 60,000 kilometers to deliver welfare
and support to community members.

The club also provides significant funds and assistance to regional schools, bursaries, educational
oversees war memorial tours, research, veteran support programs, commemorative events and
activities, leading by example through staff participation in many community staged events.
Through best practice initiatives, such as regular training, awareness, liaison with support agencies
and compliance with the Responsible Gambling Code of Practice, Kedron-Wavell was recognised by
the OLGR for its responsible practices.

Clubs Queensland Chief Executive Officer Doug Flockhart congratulated Kedron-Wavell Services
Club on their awards success.

The Keno & Clubs Queensland Awards for Excellence celebrates the collective and individual
achievements by this vibrant $1.9 billion industry.
