Brisbane Netball AssociationJanuary 3rd, 2017
The Brisbane Netball Association was a proud recipient of 2016’s Kedron-Wavell Community Grants Program. The grants program assists individuals and community-based organisations who strengthen their communities by making a valuable and long-term sustainable contribution.
Based at Bradbury Park in Chermside, the association has been in the local community for over 45 years. Their $1,000 grant was used to purchase new post-padding for their courts and practice goal rings to ensure that player safety is maintained to a very high standard.
With a membership of over 1,200, ranging in age from 5 to 55 years the association offers netball all year round, playing on Tuesday and Wednesday nights in Summer and Wednesday nights and all day Saturday during Winter.
The facilities at Brisbane Netball Association are also utilised by local primary and high schools for inter and intra school competitions.
“During our peak season we see up to 2,000 people access our facility on a weekly basis, therefore the safety for our players is of paramount importance and we thank Kedron-Wavell for assisting us in achieving this” said Chairperson for the association Sharon Casablanca.
