SUPPORTING THE VOLUNTEERS AT THE PRINCE CHARLES HOSPITAL FOUNDATIONAugust 29th, 2016
Last year, the Club enhanced its partnership with The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation to help support its internal volunteer program, Charlie’s Angels. According to the CEO of The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation, Michael Hornby, the partnership was a match made in heaven.
“We needed to provide more support to the Angels in terms of increasing our recruitment, training support, covering the increasing costs for insurance and general coordination. The number of volunteers had begun to decline in recent times and it was in the patients’ best interest that we reinvigorate the program.”
For over two decades these volunteers have provided essential support to the patients and staff at the hospital giving Charlie’s Angels a wonderful reputation.
The Foundation continues to recruit Charlie’s Angels and has expanded the volunteer program to seven new departments within the hospital with Kedron-Wavell Services Club’s partnership meaning staff will continue to see the iconic yellow-shirted volunteers around the hospital, and the volunteer’s uniform cost will be covered.
With the continued support from Kedron-Wavell, the Foundation’s future plans are to establish an indigenous volunteer program and potential volunteer support to the research teams.
